The people of Cam and Dursley are celebrating a huge triumph in what they thought would be a lengthy battle to preserve a Roman find in the area. Residents in the area were delighted at the find but disheartened that archaeologists deemed that the structure was not of enough significance to preserve it. A petition was raised, almost 6, people have signed it, and it looks like people power has won the day.

A Roman bath house has been discovered by archaeologists in Cam on a Bovis Homes building site - and now there's a fight to save it being built on top of. The developers plan to continue building the new homes as the find 'does not qualify for preservation', according to experts. But residents in nearby neighbourhoods think otherwise and a petition urging the remnants of bath house are saved has 2, signatures. She also says that the wishes of the residents in the area need to be respected and the area should be made more attractive and accessible to the public. Bovis have said that the archaeological reports states that the find does not qualify for preservation.
