By Johnny Oleksinski. And I hate it. Meanwhile, baby boomers gave us, um, computers, and our major contributions to society are emojis and TV recaps. First there was Talia Jane, the dopey, year-old Yelp employee who was rightly fired for whining about her low salary on social media. Next came the year-old Mic writer who told his boss he was taking time off for a funeral when he was actually building a tree house. And then entered the Sandernistas, Bernie Sanders obsessives who preached reform and inclusion by berating their closest friends and family for daring to think differently. Recently, a comment from a colleague hit me like a stray selfie-stick. Because they suck. We suck. We really suck.

The problem with 'Don't do it'

F or year-old Mary Amanuel, from London, it happened in Tesco. That deterred me from using it. It is widely believed that young people are hopelessly devoted to social media. Teenagers, according to this stereotype, tweet, gram, Snap and scroll. But for every young person hunched over a screen, there are others for whom social media no longer holds such an allure. These teens are turning their backs on the technology — and there are more of them than you might think. While many of us have been engrossed in the Instagram lives of our co-workers and peers, a backlash among young people has been quietly boiling. Another survey of 9, internet users from the research firm Ampere Analysis found that people aged had significantly changed their attitudes towards social media in the past two years. This is why laws like this are a bad idea. While I can remember goofing around in my early 20s, taking it to Walmart of all places, the results were 2 hard copies easily controlled. And I would dare say no one under 18 was doing this. Times have changed. Teens have always been getting naked and sexy with one another, now they have ways to discretely tease and entice each other. This should not be a crime. Exploitation of children, voyeur pictures of pervs, actual child porn should be illegal. But there is a big difference between a 16 year old showing off her boobs and any of that. Change the laws already.
Girls have been told they can be anything they want to be, and it shows. They are seizing opportunities closed to previous generations — in science, math, sports and leadership. Boys seem to have been largely left out of the conversation about gender equality. These are findings from a new nationally representative poll of 1, children and adolescents 10 to 19, along with other research on this age group, which is not surveyed often. They show gender attitudes of a generation on the verge of adulthood. In the survey, conducted by PerryUndem, a research and polling firm, a majority of girls said sexism was still a problem — yet in many ways, they felt empowered. Girls were slightly more likely than boys to say being a leader was a very important life goal, evidence of a significant shift in gender expectations. She is captain of the debate team and a member of the student council, and wants to become a scientist. When boys and girls were asked about their goals and aspirations, the responses were similar. Three-quarters said having a successful career was very important.
